Final Resting Places and Geneaology
FindAGrave.com is a site that documents cemeteries across the country. Two cemeteries in the Splendora, Texas area are the final resting places for some Martin relatives.
The Morgan cemetery is a family cemetery where any descendent can request plots for their family. A great time to get more information is the first Saturday in May each year, when the cemetery welcomes all families to attend a cemetery cleaning event and official family meeting. Morgan Cemetery in Security, Texas. There is also a Facebook group for the Morgan Cemetery.
Henry Hillard Martin was buried at County Line Cemetery. FindAGrave has more information.
Henry Hillard was born in Pike County, Alabama in 1800. The family spent some time there. A jumping-off place for your research might be the FamilySearch site for Pike County. An older, but possibly still useful site would be the US Gen Web project for Pike County.
Likewise, groups.yahoo.com/group/alabamagenealogy can provide research support.
Ancestry.com - Wonderful resource, if you have an extra couple hundred bucks to throw at them. Many online documents and very helpful people with customer support. If you already own a subscription, I'd love to beg for a few more searches. :)
